Marshall's Story

Marshall Stuart’s entrepreneurial spirit, understanding of the land, and passion for winemaking stem from a lifetime of hard work.

Marshall first began developing his soil knowledge as a teenager when he purchased his first earth mover equipment and never looked back. He spent years as a grading contractor and his experience working with various soils became crucial when he developed a passion for enology, the study of wines.

While studying viticulture at U.C. Davis, Marshall learned the ins and outs of cultivating grape vineyards. During this time, he put his passion into practice and began apprenticing at Keyways Winery where he developed the winery’s Zinfandel program.

In 1994, Marshall purchased and planted 40-acres in the Temecula Valley before opening Stuart Cellars Vineyard and Winery which thrived until he eventually sold the winery in 2011. His expertise was then utilized by Lorimar Vineyards and Winery where he continued to use his knowledge to craft fine wines.

With an established reputation as a leading winemaker, and at the urging of many people, Marshall and his wife, Shannon, set out on their newest adventure–the launch of Marshall Stuart Wines.

Today, Marshall Stuart’s focus is on crafting the best wines from the ground up. Starting with the soil and cultivation of the vineyards, to the harvest and winemaking process, to the end result of a bottle of fine wine, Shannon and Marshall can’t wait to showcase their wines as the best in Temecula Valley Wine Country.
